League RULES
  • 1. Each team to consist of FIVE players
  • 2. Each match will consist of 5 singles and 2 pairs
  • 3. All games will be 501 flying start
  • 4. Each game consists of best of three legs
  • 5. To decide which player throws first, both players wil throw one dart to bull. Nearest to bull throws first in the first leg, the loser of the first leg to throw first in the second leg. In the third leg both players will throw for bull again.
  • 6. The home team to go for bull first in each game.
  • 7 If a player exceeeds the required score, when throwing next he will go for the score required at the beginning of the last throw(Bust Rule).
  • 8. All matches will commence at 8:00pm. All players should be present at this time. If players are not present at 8:30pm opponents may claim the games of the missing players.
  • 9. The home team wil provide the match marker.

Method Of Point Scoring

  • 1. Teams score 1 point per game won, with a bonus point to the winning team overall. i.e. if a teams wins 4-3, they get five points and the losing team get 3 points.
  • In the event of teams drawing on points at the end of the season, there will be one further match played between the teams that are drawn, league rules will apply.
  • Results sheets MUST be returned to the ST.Geogrge no later than the following sunday night otherwise the winning team forfeit their points.

Match Format

  • 1. Five singles of 501
  • 2. Two pairs of 501
  • 3. Flying start - Double Finish
  • BEST OF THREE GAMES

Rules of Administration

Postponement of League Matches - Teams may postpone up to TWO league matches in any one season. When postponing a match the following procedure MUST be followed

  • 1. Teams wishing to postpone a League Match must give the opposite captain no less than 48 hours notice of postponement, i.e. By 8:00pm the Wednesday before the match.
  • 2. The league secretary must be notified IMMEDIATELY
  • 3. The team that did not request the postponement must give THREE dates to the opposing captain for the match to be played within FOUR weeks of the postponement, with the date and time given to the RESULTS Secretary. First half games to be completed before the last game of the fist half. Second half games to be completed before the last game of the second half.
  • 4. If the game is not played within the time limits set above, the match and points will be awarded to the team the DID NOT call for the original postponement.

CUP Matches

  • 1. All cup matches will comprise of seven players
  • 2. The Meredith Cup will be 301 double start handicap competition with each player playing all three legs.
  • 3. The Starkey Cup will be 501 flying start non handicap best of three legs for each player.
  • 4. The Stacey Cup will be 501 flying start handicap competition with each player playing all three legs.
  • 5. Teams that fair to honour Cup Matches when drawn away from home in Team knock-out competitions will forfeit their right to recieve home draws in any compeition for the rest of the season.

Individual Knock-Out Competition

  • 1. Up to and including the quarter final in the fours, threes, pairs, and singles each round will be played as best of three legs.
  • 2. The Semi final and Final in the fours and threes competition will best best of three legs
  • 3. The Semi final and Final in the pairs and singles competition will be the best of five legs. SINGLES Knockout - WINNER OF BULL TO THROW FIRST IN LEGS 1+ 3( 5+ 7) IN SF + FINAL
  • 4. The format for the individual Knock-out competition will be 501 flying start
  • 5. To enter the Fours, threes, pairs and singles Competition a signing on fee of £1.00 is required per player.
  • 6. Fours, threes, and pairs can be made up of players from different teams in the league.

Player Registration

  • 1. All teams must register a minimum of seven players, there is no maximum
  • 2. Signing on fee will be £5.00 per player
  • 3. A player may be signed on the night of the match providided the opposing captain agrees. Their name must be written on the back of the result sheet accompanied by the signing on fee of £5.00. Please ensure the Treasurer recieves this.
  • 4. A player signing on as a replacement for another playerwho has not played can do so, provided the opposing captain agrees and the names of both players are written on the back of the results sheet stating who is replacing who on the night of the match.
  • 5. No new registrations will be accepted in the final six weeks of the League season.

Transfers

  • Players wishing to transfer must apply in writing to the League Secretary enclosing a fee of £1.50 after which the application will be put before the committee.

If a player is Banned From Licenced Premises.

  • Should any member of the League be banned from Licensed premises, the team that he is a member of must play any match due to be played on such premises without that player.
  • Should two or more players from the same team be banned from the same Licensed premises, and if the Committee are unable to arrange for the players in question to enter the said premises to play the match, the committee will arrange for the match to be playerd at a neutral venue.

Trophies and condition of Same

  • All cups and trophies will be kept at the venues for which they were won, during which time they will be in the safe keeping of the Licensee who will responsible for them. They must be kept in a clean and in a safe area and returned to the League in the condition in which they were presented. If not, the League reserve the right to have repairs and cleaning carried out at the expense of the Licensee. where responsibility is not accepted, any team entry from that venuewill be not be permitted. All cups and trophies remain at all times property of the Ilfracombe And District Men's Dart League.

Rule Changes

  • Proposals for amendment or changes to these rules must be made in writing to the League Secretary. any proposed changes must be received seven clear days before the The Annual General Meeting where the proposals will be discussed and voted upon by the members there present.
